The Grand Tour of Japan is our most highly recommended and extensive sightseeing course of Japan for those really wanting to explore Japan. This package includes visits to Mt. Fuji, Kamakura, and Narita & Sawara from Tokyo before taking the Tokaido Shinkansen to Nagoya & Ise. From there, you will go to Kyoto, Takayama and Kanazawa, where you can experience traditional Japan.

Guide English-speaking guide or assistant service is included from the airport on Day 1 to the hotel in Kyoto on Day 14 (except while onboard transfer from/to the airport, while on board the bullet train, and Day 5 and 10).
Baggage Your baggage will be transported from Hakone to Kyoto on Day 7 and from Kyoto to Tokyo on Day 11. Each person will be allowed one piece of baggage. Additional baggage will require an extra fee of JPY 2,200 per item. For overnight stays on Day 7, 11, and 12, we recommend that you carry a light overnight bag. Each person will be allowed one piece of baggage. Additional baggage will require an extra fee of JPY 1,000 per item.

Day 1: Arrival in Tokyo

Narita Airport Hotel in Tokyo.
(JTB staff will meet you at the exit of customs and assist you in boarding a reserved taxi.)

Day 2: Tokyo

REMARKS

1. Please note that all seating on the trains is non-reserved seats and that it may not be possible to sit down on Day 4.
2. Please dress casually and wear shoes comfortable for walking on Day 4.
3. For operational reasons, your tour guide may not accompany you back to Tokyo after Kamakura Station. In this case, your guide will tell you how to go back to your hotel from Kamakura Station on Day 4.
4. In some cases, a bus may be used as transportation between Tokyo and Kamakura on Day 4.
5. Because it is extremely hot in the months from July through September, please bring your own soft drink and hat.
6. Earphone guidance may be used if the number of participants is more than 15 on Day 4.
7. If a tour participant damages or loses an earphone guidance device, he/she may be charged for compensation (JPY 10,000) on Day 4.
8. Chartered cars/coaches may be used for transfer from Kintetsu-Nagoya Station to the Hotel in Ise for Day 8.
9. When the Ama Huts and/or Mikimoto Pearl Island are closed, the tour will visit the Toba Sea Folk Museum or Toba Aquarium instead for Day 8.
10. The hotel on Day 8 may be changed to Ise Pearl Pier Hotel, Ise City Hotel Annex, or Ise City Hotel.
11. Please dress casually and wear shoes comfortable for walking and also bring a coat or warm clothes from the chilly month of October to the snowy month of February.
12. Depending upon traffic, weather conditions, or other operational needs, a motorcoach may be used to transfer from Nagoya Station to Takayama Station for Day 11.
13.Visits to Kasukabe Folk Museum and Kami Sannomachi Street may be changed to the following day.
16. When booking three people in one room, Japanese-Western-style rooms will be arranged for H12 - 20 on Day 5. Enjoy sleeping in futon on tatami mats.
17. Lake Miboro may be skipped if there is heavy snow on Day 12.
18. When the Former Toyama Family Residence is closed, or during days of heavy snow in the winter, visit the Gassho-zukuri Folklore Park for Day 12.
19. Guests are allowed to leave the tour at Itami Airport. If you would like to do so, please let us know upon booking.
20. This tour is offered to travelers from overseas only.

Remarks for Mt. Fuji-Hakone Tour
1.Multilingual audio guides are available in Korean, Chinese, German and Spanish. They will be provided free of charge. Units may not be available if your request is made at the last minute. One unit or more will be provided per group.
2. The Mt. Komagatake Ropeway is skipped on the following days due to traffic conditions: May 2, 5, Jul. 18, 23, 24, 30, 31, Aug. 6, 7, 20, 21, 27, 28, Sep. 3, 10, 19, 25, Oct. 1, 10, 15, 22, 29, 30, Nov. 5, 12, 19, and Dec. 30.
3.When the Fuji Visitor Center is closed or if the tour is behind schedule due to traffic conditions, the Fuji Visitor Center may be skipped.
4.The road to Mt. Fuji 5th station is sometimes closed due to heavy snows in the winter and the early spring. If this is the case, or if the tour is behind schedule, you will go to the highest possible point.
5.The tour will not be cancelled nor refunded if you are unable to see the full view of Mt. Fuji due to weather conditions.
6.Although the Komagatake Ropeway, Hakone Ropeway or the cruise on Lake Ashi may be omitted or substituted for as a result of traffic and weather conditions or other operational reasons, the tour will not be canceled nor will the tour fee be refunded. In the case that one or both of the destinations are omitted, you will enjoy one of the following alternatives: Narukawa Art Museum in Hakone, Hakone Check Point, Cruise on Lake Kawaguchi, Lake Kawaguchi Ropeway, Hakone-en Aquarium, Hakone Shrine and Hakone Ropeway (Owaku-dani Valley). Your tour guide will finalize alternatives based upon careful consideration of tour logistics and other conditions.
7. Your tour guide may not accompany you back to Tokyo after Odawara Station for operational reasons.
